  • Local workplace standards and regulations: A JRP often includes learning about local industry standards, workplace safety regulations, or other country-specific skills that migrants must be familiar with to meet the SMA.

  • Recognition of qualifications: Some Job Ready Programs help recognise and validate foreign qualifications, ensuring that a migrant’s overseas experience is properly assessed by the relevant local authorities.

Components of JRP

Before JRP, the Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA) verifies whether the individual holds valid qualifications. It also assesses previous work experience.


JRP broadly has three stages-


  1. Job Ready Employment (JRE)-  This stage verifies eligibility, employment arrangements, and any claims for prior employment.

  2. Job Ready Workplace Assessment (JRWA)- This stage assesses an individual's practical skills in a real work set-up.

  3. Job Ready Final Assessment (JRFA)- This stage is the formal recognition of the completion of the program. The outcome of this assessment is used to satisfy the requirements of SMA.


Individuals need to make sure they demonstrate that they can follow complex instructions, work unsupervised and safely, identify and use tools, and demonstrate employability skills for successful completion of JRP.
